Club Dinner with Rugby Legend Brian Moore
Monday 28th April 2025
On Tuesday, 22nd April, The Club was honoured to welcome former England Rugby player, international and acclaimed broadcaster Brian Moore for a memorable evening of stories, insight, and fine dining.
Guests were treated to a champagne reception before settling in for a three-course dinner, beautifully paired with wines and finished with port. The evening's highlight was Brian’s entertaining and candid reflections on his illustrious rugby career and life beyond the pitch.
From tales of Grand Slam triumphs and World Cup campaigns to his experiences as a British Lion, Brian captivated the room with his trademark wit and honesty. His insights into the world of professional sport, media, and the law offered guests a rare and engaging perspective.
Brian Moore, a qualified solicitor and veteran of 64 England caps, played in three Rugby World Cups and was a key figure in England’s Grand Slam victories in 1991, 1992, and 1995. He was part of the British Lions’ 1989 Test series win in Australia and was named Rugby World Player of the Year in 1990. Since retiring, he has built a respected career in journalism and broadcasting, contributing to The Daily Telegraph, Talksport, and the BBC.
The evening was a great success and a standout addition to the Club’s Social Calendar. A huge thank you to Brian Moore for joining us, to Nigel Gillingham OBE for arranging the evening, and to Sqn Ldr John Peters for hosting a fascinating and entertaining evening.
