Why Join?

The RAF Club combines RAF heritage with a host of excellent modern facilities for relaxing and dining, along with well-priced overnight accommodation. With 110 bedrooms, a well-equipped Fitness Centre and Business Suite and relaxed public areas, use of the Piccadilly clubhouse can be enjoyed as part of your annual membership.

Serving and Reservist Officers do not require a proposer or seconder to become members of the Club - simply fill out and return the relevant application form and we will do the rest. Fees are based on rank for Serving Officers and start from only £51.00 per annum at Pilot Officer rank.

For those interested in using the Club for business or networking, we have meeting rooms available for member hire along with a Library and Business Suite to catch up on work when in town.

Serving Royal Air Force Officers

Full Membership of the Royal Air Force Club is open to serving officers in the Royal Air Force. 

Newly graduated officers are eligible for a subscription of only £12.00 per annum for the first five years’ commissioned service following graduation, with subscription fees then reverting to rank as below. Please complete a Direct Debit Mandate Form along with your application. 
Associate membership for spouses/civil partners is available priced at £28.00 for 2024.

The annual subscription for 2024 pro-rated from date of joining on a monthly basis to 31 December is as follows:

Tour of Duty Overnight Stays

In pursuance of its charitable objectives, the Club recognises and supports serving Club members who have deployed on operations (unaccompanied commitment lasting at least four months) by offering discounted accommodation for one stay following return from deployment. Benefit from: 50% reduction on room charge (single, double, family) only for up to three days, one offer per member every three calendar years to be taken within twelve months of returning from the deployment.

Reservations are to be made by the member emailing the reservations department at reservations@rafclub.org.uk. Please note it is not possible to book the tour of duty rate online. Members will need to advise the Club at the time of booking that they wish to take up the ‘Deployed Personnel’ offer.

Full membership is open to Serving Foreign Officers who hold a commission in the Commonwealth or Foreign Air Force. 

The annual subscription is £207.00 for 2024 pro-rated on a monthly basis from date of joining to 31 December. Candidates must include documentary proof. Please complete a Direct Debit Mandate Form along with your application.

Full Membership - Former Serving Officers

Former Serving Royal Air Force Officers

A candidate for election as a Former Serving Officer will have held a commission in the Royal Air Force. The Former Serving annual subscription is £207.00 for 2024 pro-rated on a monthly basis from date of joining to 31 December. 

If a candidate left the Service or resigned from the Club more than six years ago, they will be required to be proposed and seconded by Full Members of at least two years standing.

Associate membership for spouses, civil or unmarried partners is available priced at £28.00 for 2024.

Former Serving Foreign or Commonwealth Air Force Officers

The Former Serving annual subscription is £207.00 for 2024 pro-rated on a monthly basis from date of joining to 31 December. Candidates who were previously commissioned in a Commonwealth or Foreign Air Force must include documentary proof.

Former Serving Royal Air Force Reserve Officers

A candidate for election as a Former Serving Reserve Officer will have held a commission in the Royal Air Force Reserves.  The Former Serving annual subscription is £207.00 for 2024 pro-rated on a monthly basis from date of joining to 31 December.

A candidate for election as a Former Serving Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service will have held a commission in the Princess Mary's Royal Air Force Nursing Service. The Former Serving annual subscription is £207.00 for 2024 pro-rated on a monthly basis from date of joining to 31 December.

If a candidate left the Service or resigned from the Club more than six years ago, they will be required to be proposed and seconded by Full Members of at least two years standing.

Former Serving Women's Royal Air Force or Womens’ Auxiliary Air Force

A candidate for election as a Former-Serving Women's Royal Air Force or Womens' Auxiliary Air Force Member will have held a commission in the Women's Royal Air Force or Womens' Auxiliary Air Force. The Former-Serving annual subscription is £207.00 for 2024 pro-rated from date of joining to 31 December.

If a candidate left the Service or resigned from the Club more than six years ago, they will be required to be proposed and seconded by Full Members of at least two years standing.

Foreign or Commonwealth Air Force or Officers on Secondment with Joint Forces

A Foreign Serving Member who currently holds a commission in a foreign or commonwealth air force or be serving on secondment with the joint forces will currently pay the equivalent of the Former Serving annual subscription, which is £207.00 for 2024 pro-rated on a monthly basis from date of joining to 31 December.

Officer of the Royal Navy or Army serving on secondment with the Royal Air Force

An Officer of the Royal Navy or Army serving on secondment with the Royal Air Force will currently pay the equivalent of the Former Serving annual subscription, which is £207.00 for 2024 pro-rated on a monthly basis from date of joining to 31 December. Documentary proof of secondment is required with application.

Affiliate Membership

Open to those who have made or are making a positive contribution to the RAF family.

Affiliate Membership

Affiliate membership is open to those who have made or are making a positive contribution to the RAF family. Potential Affiliate Members do not need to have served in the RAF but are filling a Royal Air Force-connected role at an equivalent SEO grade or above.

The Trustees are looking for individuals with sustained, significant and active involvement, able to demonstrate considerable support to the RAF Family, outside of professional employment. In order to broaden this category of membership, the rule also allows the election of candidates who have been or are actively contributing to promoting the interests of the RAF; again continuing interest and personal involvement in some aspect of the RAF family including, for example, philanthropic activities, work for RAF related charities, sponsorship - this list is by no means exhaustive.

For 2024 there is an entrance fee of £282.00 and the subscription fee is also £282.00 pro-rated from the date of joining to 31 December.

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots/Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society

For 2024 there is an entrance fee of £487.00 and the subscription fee is £487.00 pro-rated on a monthly basis from the date of joining until 31 December.

A commissioned officer of Other Armed Forces - eligible to wear the Flying Badge or Wings

For 2024 there is an entrance fee of £282.00 and the subscription fee is also £282.00 pro-rated on a monthly basis from the date of joining to 31 December.

University Air Squadrons

Members of the UAS, who have completed their first academic year of study, and all past members of the UAS who served on that Squadron for at least one year, are eligible for Affiliate (UAS) membership in recognition of their support to the UAS and the Royal Air Force. The 2024 entrance fee for past UAS members is £282.00, with a subscription fee of £282.00, pro-rated on a monthly basis from the date of joining to 31 December.

Current UAS Members on joining will be eligible for an introductory rate of £20.00 for the first five years, after which they move to a Previous UAS Membership category, paying £282.00 in 2024. There is no entrance fee for current UAS Members.

Family Membership

Membership for family members of a Full member. Applicable to Children/Grandchilden/Parents/Siblings/Nieces/Nephews and Legal Guardians.

 

Family Membership

Family members (Child / Grandchild / Parent / Sibling / Niece/ Nephew or Legal Guardian) are eligible to take up membership of the Club from 18 years' old. For 2024 there will be an entrance fee of £244.00 and subscription fee of £244.00, pro-rated on a monthly basis from date of joining to 31 December.
