‘Per ardua ad astra –Challenging Stereotypes’: Club Dinner with Chairman AM Sue Gray CB OBE, FREng
Thursday 19th September 2019
On Tuesday 10th September, members and guests enjoyed a truly wonderful Women in Aviation Club Dinner with our Chairman Air Marshal Sue Gray CB OBE, FREng as keynote speaker. The event was launched in the Club’s centenary year and coincided with the unveiling of our beautiful stained glass window depicting ‘Women in the Service of the RAF’ by our Patron, HM The Queen in October 2018.
The evening, hosted by Club Trustee, Air Commodore Barbara Cooper CBE, ‘celebrated, commemorated and inspired’ in equal measure, encompassing stories of the original female trailblazers and their wartime bravery to heartfelt accounts from the current generation of female officers serving at the top of their game.
AM Gray rounded off a fantastic event with candid insights on over 30 years' service, on and off the frontline. Huge thanks to all the trailblazing ladies who joined us, including members of RAF Rugby Women whose attendance was kindly supported by Secure Cloud Plus. We eagerly look forward to next year's event!
