On 4th December, former members of the Royal Canadian Air Force’s Air Demonstration Team, the ‘Snowbirds’, presented their Squadron badge to the Royal Air Force Club. Lieutenant Colonel Dan Dempsey CD RCAF (Retired), former Commander of 431 Squadron, handed over the framed badge to the Chair of the Club Arts and Heritage Committee, Group Captain Jim Beldon. Before its current incarnation as the Canadian equivalent to the Red Arrows, 431 Squadron had a distinguished history as a Yorkshire-based heavy bomber unit in the Second World War and as a Cold War jet fighter squadron.
