On Monday 27th November, the Institute of Hospitality hosted their Above and Beyond event at the Royal Air Force Club as part of their 85th Anniversary celebrations. The event, led by CEO Robert Richardson FIH MI, featured an engaging panel of industry professionals, including our Chief Executive and Club Secretary, Miles Pooley FIH MI.

Accredited panellists included Matthew Randall MIH, General Manager at Searcys at The Honourable Artillery Company, Jane Sanderson FIH, Operations Director at The Clink Charity, and Jupiter Humphrey-Bishop AIH, Footman at The Royal Household. The panel delved into the prevalent topic that 'Hospitality isn't just hotels,' dispelling misconceptions and exploring the nuances between working in hotels and broader industries within the sector.

Drawing from their extensive experience in various hospitality roles, the expert panel shared valuable insights. Miles drew from nearly 40 years working in the hospitality sector, many of these years within hotels. Reflecting on his career he noted how special the Royal Air Force Club is as an organisation because of what the Club means to our membership.

The Royal Air Force Club is proud to employ individuals so passionate about Hospitality, that they represent the Club within the Institute. Alongside being an industry expert panellist, Royal Air Force Club CEO Miles Pooley is Fellow of the Institute, an esteemed honour that recognises the importance and expertise of the most senior members of the hospitality industry. Our Front Office Manager Katariina Reissaar MIH represents the young professionals and future leaders of the hospitality industry as the Chair of the Institute of Hospitality Youth Council, in this role she leads the council to provide insight, advice and recommendations to assist the institute as it evolves.
