On Tuesday 7th June 2022, the Club hosted another beautiful gourmet dinner in the Library. This time for a very special gourmet Champagne dinner hosted by the owner of Champagne Gardet, Christophe Prieux, and Managing Director of Jackson Nugent Vintners Ltd. Our talented Head Chef, Michael Dutnall created a beautiful 4 course Champagne themed menu, which will be expertly matched with a selection of Gardet Champagnes. RAF Club Trustee, Sqn Ldr John Peters welcomed our members and guests to this special event.

Our members were told of the history of Champagne Gardet which was created in 1895, when Charles Gardet settled in Epernay. In the 1930s, his son Georges moved to Chigny-les-Roses to continue the tradition and develop the Domaine: respect for tradition is still at the heart of the concerns. Deeply attached to its Champagne roots and having been involved in in the viticultural and arboricultural professions for several generations, it is now the Prieux family, with Christophe. Today, Champagne Gardet combines 21st century technology with tradition to produce Champagnes of exceptional quality and international renown.
